もともと家にはあまり興味がなかった。でも、狭いマンションが好きでもなかった。妻とは子どもたちが独立したら小さい家でも建てようかと話ししていた。
来年、長男は就職する予定。長女は大学２回生。子どもたちが独立するという日も遠い将来でもない。そろそろ考え始める時期に来てたんだ。
昨年末に何となく入った住宅展示場。何となく入った地元の工務店。これがとても気に入った。１２月なのにこの暖かさ。
土地を探した。田舎だけど坪30万は下がらない。50坪だと1500万かあ。年老いた両親の実家に住むもの考えた。無駄に広い家なのでスペースはあるけど使い勝手が悪いしとても寒い。もったいないけど築２５年も経たない実家を建て替えることにした。
今年の２月ごろから話は進み。４月に建築契約。６月に両親の仮住まい。
そして実家の解体作業が始まった。
半年ぐらいしか住んでなかった家だけど、解体されるのは複雑な気分だなあ。
解体屋の社長と話した。たった２５年程度なのに勿体無いと言われた。そして断熱が全然出来ていないから冬は寒かっただろうって言われた。その通りです。寒かったんですよ、社長。

After I initially commented I seem to have clicked on the -Notify me
when new comments are added- checkbox and from now on each time a comment
is added I get four emails with the same comment.

Today, I went to the beachfront with my kids. I found
a sea shell and gave it to my 4 year old daughter and
said "You can hear the ocean if you put this to your ear." She put the
